Supporting people
DPIA supports refugee integration and long‑term resettlement through several UK Government‑initiated programmes, including the Afghan Resettlement Programme (ARP) and Homes for Ukraine, which help individuals and families fleeing conflict and instability to rebuild their lives in the UK.
We work closely with the local authorities in Torfaen, Caerphilly, and Blaenau Gwent to provide tailored support to families who have been offered sanctuary through these resettlement schemes. Over several years, we deliver a comprehensive package of orientation, integration, and settlement services. Intensive support is provided during the first year, gradually reducing as families gain confidence, independence, and connection within their community.

The Resettlement Scheme ensures that families receive structured, culturally informed, and long‑term support to help them rebuild their lives and become self‑sufficient.

Feedback
We really value the feedback we receive. Here are a few anonymous comments about the difference our work is making.
DPIA play an important role in helping newly arrived refugees in the UK. We started with very basic English, but with DPIA we studied ESOL, then moved to the right courses for our goals. Today we are studying Access to Bioscience and waiting to hear back from universities for Paramedic Science and Adult Nursing.
The job that I got was temporary as an assistant, I applied for a permanent job, and now I'm a Hub officer. I hope to be a manager one day.
In one year and 7 months that I live in Caerphilly I find it very excellent. My family and I are very happy, Thanks Caerphilly council for providing extensive services for immigrants.
Thanks DPIA Case Worker and Interpreter, I can never have enough words to thank you.
